Copy some files to another computer

Thread needs solution

I have 2019 installed on a desktop running win 10.  I will be traveling and would like to take my external backup drive with me to copy some files to my Dell Inspiron 11.  Do I have to buy another license for this?

Hello Richard,

you can move your license to another PC as follows  https://kb.acronis.com/ati2019/moveactivation (then move back the same way)

Note, scheduled backups on your main PC won't run in this case. If you want to back up two devices at the same time, then yes, additional license would be required

Richard, another option would be to create a Survival Kit on your external drive then if you just wanted to grab some files, you could boot your laptop from the Survival Kit to get access to files stored within your backup image .tib files using the offline ATI application.
