Cryptic Acronis-related icon in taskbar "Operation has failed"

Thread needs solution

TI 2019, Windows 10 Pro 64-bit

Just sat down at the PC and see a red and white icon in the task bar with an X in the center. Hovering over it it just says "Operation has failed." Right-clicking gives me 3 choices, "Status" "Priority" and "About"

Status starts the TI GUI with no comment. About brings up the "About" selection from the "Help and Support" screen. Priority offers selections of "Low" "Normal" and "High" with "Normal" pre-selected.

Last nights backup appears to have worked, both in the GUI and the MVP Log Viewer.

I don't have any of the TI optional services enabled (cloud backup, continuous backup, etc.). I just run a backup every night, one full backup and 6 incremental, over and over and over ...

There doesn't seem to be any way to turn the icon off, other than turning off the Acronis icon from Windows settings.

What's it trying to tell me?

Bert, if none of your backups show a problem in the ATI GUI, I think it's safe to assume that some other part of ATI had a problem - not your backup(s). When you said "I don't have any of the TI optional services enabled" did you mean that you have the services disabled in Windows, or are you just not making use of them?  (I have disabled all Acronis tasks except  Acronis Active Protection and Acronis Scheduler2 Service.)

I would suggest looking at some of the other ATI logs to see if anything leaps out, but I can't suggest what to look for.  My TI_console and TI_monitor logs are full of "errors" that are apparently due to tasks I've disabled - nothing to worry about, but they sure look bad.  There might be something significant in the Schedule2 log, but good luck finding it.  Hopefully somebody with more knowledge will comment.
