Do I gain anything with ATI 2019

Thread needs solution

I currently use Acronis 2018.  I have disabled all the security, sync and other functions that don't specifically relate to back up.  All I use for recovery is a USB key.

My question is are there any new changes in the backup features in 2019??

Thanks,

Pete

Pete,

If you're using the basics and mostly just using the rescue media, then no, not really.  The bug fixes in 2019 have been nice and there are some UI improvements, but overall, the functionality is pretty similar - especially how you're using it.

At some point, as Major Windows 10 upgrades will keep popping out, you may need to consider an upgrade for compatibility, but you're fine for now if 2018 is still working for you.

Here's the 2019 comparison information from Acronis:

Hi Bobbo

Thanks.  Win 10 upgrades aren't an issue as  I am still on Win 7 with no plans to change that.    With the latest offer, I may just upgrade anyway.

Again thanks,

Pete

Pete,

Roger that.  Whenever a good deal comes along, never hurts to jump on it!!

You are aware Windows 7 is end of life with MS in January 2020?  After that, it will be ripe for zero day exploits (some of which have been tested in the wild just recently).

You'd have to be asleep to not be aware of the EOL of Win 7.   I have actually stopped many of the updates already.  Not worried about new malware and exploits.  I have these systems locked up tight and have run a lot of live malware against them.

But thanks for the alert.
