Does Acronis 2019 interfere with iPad restore using iTunes?

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis 2019 running on a Windows 10 machine.  I also have iTunes and I am trying to restore a backup from iTunes to an iPad.  Each time I try this, the iPad says Restoration In Progress and then it reboots.

Apple support has asked if Acronis might be interfering with iTunes restore.  Has anyone seen this?  Is this a known issue?

Thanks for any help or insight you can provide.

I have used iTunes to restore to a new iPad without problem, however that was probably before ATI introduced Active Protection. Have you tried temporarily deactivating Active Protection? (Not sure why ATI would think recovering an iPad suggested malware type activity, but there are some odd things that happen with Active Protection. It could be that the monitoring process of Active Protection slow down the process to the extent that iTunes thinks the iPad has stopped responding, and for that reason reboots the PC.)

So, have you tried temporarily disabling Active Protection; if not please do so and see if that overcomes the problem.

Thanks for this suggestion.

I actually uninstalled acronis completely and that did not help.  So, Acronis was not the issue.

John, if you are still struggling with iPad restore, consider trying iMazing by DigiDNA. I believe that it will restore from an iTunes backup.

I used to have iTunes installed strictly for its backup feature, and after using iMazing for a while I've completely uninstalled iTunes in favor of the DigiDNA product.
