Email Recovery

Thread needs solution

I recently deleted the contents of my Microsoft Outlook inbox by mistake!

Would some kind person explain how to recover these from my ATI backup?

Thank you in advance.

Stephen, welcome to these public User Forums.

What type of Acronis backup do you have available here?

Recovery of MS Outlook files will depend on where these are stored and if they were included in your backup?

The starting point would be to open Explorer to where your backup .TIB file(s) are kept, then double-click on the latest .tib file to open it in Explorer.  Then it is a matter of looking in the place where you expect the Outlook files to be stored.  If you find the files then you should be able to use normal Copy & Paste keys to bring the files back to where they are needed.

Thank you for your reply. My backup is on an external hard drive which I only connect when I make my backup. I will connect it and have a look!!

I've had a look at my backup on my external drive but cannot find the file(s) that contain my Outlook emails. I think I have found the (very long) path on my internal hard drive to where my existing emails are stored, as an ".ost" file?

This path does not seem to exist in my ATI backup.

Any further help would be appreciated as some of the data that I deleted relates to my wife's family history. If I cannot recover the data I will be in serious trouble!!

Stephen, please see KB 48032: Acronis software: *.OST-file is not backed up - which describes the reason why these OST files are not included in Acronis backups by default!

You may need to speak with your ISP / Email service provider to see if they can recover your deleted data on their servers?
