Failed Backup

Thread needs solution

I have a dual boot desktop computer.

I have Acronis 2019 TrueImage installed on Drive C, a Samsung 500GB SSD 850

My second drive is Drive D, a Crucial 500GB SDD MX500.

I have scheduled Acronis to do a full backup of Drive D several days a week to Drive E, a Seagrte 250GB DM800

I have used space of 190 GB on Drive D.

After originally backing up Drive D to Drive E I only have 120 GB free, but if I am doing a full backup which deletes the previous backup why does the back not happen, no error messages.

Any help much appreciated..

Thank you.

Bryan, Acronis will never delete an existing backup file or version chain before making a new backup file successfully, so as to never leave the user without any backup.

In this case you need a larger backup storage drive to allow for this behaviour and be able to store a minimum of 2 full backup images.

Thank you so much for getting on my case Steve and for the solution to my problem.

I have now placed an order for a 500 GB backup drive.

I now fully understand the need a such a large drive.

Once again, thank you so much.
