File is locked and can't be backed up

Thread needs solution

I just had an overnight TIH2019 backup stopped in its tracks with an error message (discovered in the morning) that a file was in use or locked and couldn't be backed up. The file was a .JPG.

This was a new one for me. No other applications except Acronis were open and I was using the admin account (WIn 10 Home ed.).

What could have caused this? Is there any way to avoid this and ensure a smoother unattended overnight backup?

TIA

The last time I saw this type of issue it was caused by my antivirus flagging up a file as potential malware and putting it in quarantine (false positive).

Download the MVP Log Viewer tool (link below) and use this to check where exactly the problem file was located when the backup hit the error?  For me it was not the original file location, but where Microsoft VSS had captured a copy of the file in its snapshot folders for the backup task.

Thanks for the advice, Steve.  Will try this tomorrow when I'm back in front of that PC (travelling today).
