Find location of backup file

Thread needs solution

I probably knew this back in the day but now really cannot remember.

How can I find out the backup file location(s) for all versions of a backup? I have one backup where one version chain is 71GB when it should be 10GB. It seems the included list of files was too big for that version chain. It probably happened after the resetting backup settings in October.

Strange thing is there is no file of that size in the normal backup location. It's probably stored somewhere else randomly! I probably could just "clean up version" and get rid of it wherever it is, but I'd really like to see where it is first.

Can someone help?

Thanks.

Jon, sorry but the location of any ATI backup file should be only where you have set as the Destination for your backup task.

The version chain size is simply a multipier of the new files being created, and if you were hit by the settings reset issue (from the Acronis dashboard servers) then one change made was to turn off automatic cleanup, so that you probably have either more incremental files or else more version chains.

Clicking on the task >> Open location option should show you exactly what files are present.

It was very odd. Acronis seemed to think it had a 71GB backup, but there certainly weren't files approaching that size in the backup folder. Anyway, I cleaned it up and moved on with my life!

I guess we would have to inspect the database to find where Acronis thinks all the files making up a chain are located??

What Steve said. This is in the down-arrow icon to the right of the task name.
