get my activation code

Thread needs solution

I moved my Acronis to another computer. I entered that SN at that time and that seemed to make it happy. But now it says I have exceeded the number of licenses. So I did something (I can't remember what) and now it wants a activation code. I don't remember ever getting one of them. How do I find it?

Eddy, if you have registered your Acronis license / serial number to your Acronis Account, then you should just be able to sign-in on the Account page in ATI and it will find your correct data for activation, or else you will need to follow the steps as shown in KB 61162: Acronis True Image 2019: "You've exceeded the maximum number of activations for this serial number"

It is weird. I just now brought it up again but it doesn't give the same "out of licenses" error. It is running now without me needing to enter an Activation Code.

On another note, it is not asking me for a backup name. I think it used to. Has that changed?

It really depends on what you are doing Eddy.  Acronis will provide a 'default' backup name based on the type of backup you are doing, but the downside to accepting this is that the next time you want to do the same type of backup, you can end up with another, different task, using the same default name.  It is easy to change a backup name by using the Rename option from the drop-down menu options but best to do this before running the task for the first time, so that all your backup files get the same changed name (not the default name).
