HELP please! Booting up with bootable media cannot find tibx file for recovery

Thread needs solution

Hi, I'm using trial 2019 to test how acronis works, and am running into a big problem.

I'm trying to clone an entire disk with system from a laptop (running win10) to a desktop (running win7),

I have made backup of entire disk for both machines to test, and saved the tibx files in different device to test: a usb disk, a sd card, and a usb 2.5' hhd.

I'm able to boot up with acronis bootable media fine, but when I'm at the screen to select recovery file, non of the tibx file can be found!

What am I doing wrong?

I have googled for a while but can't seem to find any topic related to this.

Thank you.

yihung kuo, welcome to these User Forums.

Please can you clarify exactly what you are trying to do here?

The Windows version of ATI 2019 does not create .tibx files for Disks & Partitions backup schemes, this file type is only used for Mobile backups (phones or tablets).

ATI 2019 for Windows also does not support cloning between two different computers, only between disk drives connected to the same computer.  ATI 2019 for Mac does have this type of clone operation.

I suspect that you may be mixing Acronis Backup 12.5 with Acronis True Image, where AB does create .tibx files.

See KB 60227: Difference between Acronis Backup 12.5 Standard, Acronis Backup 12.5 Advanced and Acronis True Image 2019

Please also see KB 1689: Backup archive compatibility across different product versions - which shows that ATI 2019 cannot recover backup images created by Acronis Backup products.

I purchased 2010 Acronis True image before.  Will that work on win10?

What I need to do is to clone win10 entire system with it's file in it, and clone it to a new desktop computer that's currently running Win7.

Thank you.

Sorry but you will need ATI 2015 or later to work with Windows 10, with the recommendation being to use ATI 2019.  If you have a recent version of Acronis Backup then you may be able to use that but it is a product that I have not used myself.
