How to edit backup location after router upgrade

Thread needs solution

Other than deleting the backup and creating new backup? I replaced my cable wireless modem and it uses different IP assignment. Before 192.168.x.x and now 10.0.0.X

thanks

Larry, there are several possible options here.

You could use the local hosts file to map your backup to the new address.

You could use the ATI GUI task option to 'Clone settings' and then pick the new remote location for the destination, but you would be starting a new full backup with this cloned / new task.

You could remove the current task in the ATI GUI (after making a note of your settings, then use the Add existing backup option to add in your most recent backup image file from the new location, then reconfigure the task with the settings noted earlier.

Of the above, the last option would be the one I would suggest using, unless of course you have the option to changing the cable wireless modem to go back to using 192.168 local addresses instead of using 10.0 ones?

All routers I have used, including those that are Cable Modem/Routers allow you to change the IP range. This important to me not only for my NAS, but also a large number of devices that work best with a fixed IP address.

Ditto. Just replace the sunset on the device. I also tend to set DHCP reservations on my main systems as well so they always get that same IP.

Glad to hear it!
