How to Test Restore with True Image 2019 (on an "expendable" second computer)

Thread needs solution

I have an "expendable" second computer with Win10 and a spare license of ATI2019.

For my "expendible" Win10 laptop, besides creating a SurvivalKit and Full Backup on an external drive, then reformatting the system disk, please recommend a procedure for restoring from that Full Backup and testing the restoration.

Perhaps, removing some "non-essential" WIn10 system dll ((how?), then doing a Full Restore and confirming that the restored "non-essential" dll has been restored and working?

Jim, any restore of a Full Backup will always wipe the target drive / partitions as the first step of the restore operation.  All current data on that drive will be lost in that operation, so you will end up with only the restored data from the backup file.

When restoring to a different computer, you need to be using the same edition of Windows 10 on both systems, i.e. both with Home or both with Pro, otherwise you will find that the restored OS is no longer activated because the hardware has changed.

Also, the source and target drives should be using the same or very similar connection methods, i.e. both using SATA drives using AHCI method in the BIOS, both using UEFI for the BIOS boot mode or else conversion of the drive partition format may take place.
