How to upgrade to TI 2019 from a True Image WD edition?

I want to upgrade from the True Image WD edition (2016) to the latest 2019 version. Following the upgrade link in the WD edition software, I purchased one upgrade serial key. When I installed the 2019 verison and tried to activate it, the software asked for the old key together with the new key I just purchased. The WE OEM version does not need any key to activate as long as you have a WD drive installed in your system. What should I do now?

Hello Rui,

thank you for your posting and welcome to Acronis forums! Please refer to Upgrading from Acronis True Image OEM versions to Acronis True Image. In short, an upgrade key always requires some base, be it a full key from an older product version or (typical for OEM installations) an older installation that contains necessary keys in the registry. You'll need to install your OEM Acronis True Image and then install Acronis True Image 2019 over it. If activation is still asking for a key, please open a support ticket with Acronis support team.
