Installing Acronis on Mac AND in Windows Bootcamp

Thread needs solution

I understand TrueImage 2019 can be installed on a Mac, and as part of its disk backup, it will backup the Windows Bootcamp partition, allowing you to restore either the whole disk or just the partition...but I have some more questions:

1) Could you also install Acronis on the Windows Bootcamp partition, in order to backup individual folders/etc? Or will that somehow destroy the full disk backup done from the Mac side?

2) Is it possible to resize the Bootcamp partition should you restore it via the Mac TrueImage backup?

[EDIT: This should probably be in the TrueImage for Mac Forum section - sorry didn't see that until after I'd posted]

I haven't checked the Mac forum yet.... but to quickly reply...

Yes, you can install it on the Windows bootcamp side and use it for file/folder backup - think of it as just for data and not for the OS though.

You have to backup the Mac and the bootcamp partition using the Mac version.  See KB:  https://kb.acronis.com/content/47222

and the user guide:  https://www.acronis.com/en-us/support/documentation/ATIMAC2019/index.html#33016.html

I don't have a physical Mac - just a VM Hackintosh so have not tried partition sizing, but have a feeling it's not supported as the user guide states:

Can I resize my Boot Camp partition before recovery?

No, you can't. The Boot Camp partition remains the same size as it is in the backup.

I believe that minitool partition for Macintosh can do this though (https://www.partitionwizard.com/partitionmagic/reszie-boot-camp-partition.html)

Thank you - I'm testing this now on a mac.Not sure if the Acronis will interfere with TimeMachine backups - hopefully not. Interesting to see if I restore via Timemachine at some point, if it will confuse the true Image backup.
