Leaked on LVM invocation & Flock: not found

Thread solved

Hello, I recently upgraded to Acronis 2019 and now I'm having issues creating a full backup from bootable media (USB)  Have tried both Win PE and Linux bootable.  In Linux I see the following "Leaked on LVM invocation" and ultimately "Flock: not found".  I cannot remember if this is normal.  I make it past this point however, once Acronis is loaded and I'm directing the program to the proper disk (external USB HDD) to back up to, Acronis locks up and no longer responds, requires a hard reboot.  Can you please shed some light on this??  Thanks in advance.

Is the error the same in winpe too? What is preventing it from continuing in winpe and how long are you waiting before giving up in it?

Never seen this error in either rescue media type.

I'd first run chkdsk /R on source and destination disk to make sure there is no disk issues at the sector level.

This error also indicates the disk can't be locked for backup. Do a shutdown /p in windows (CMD prompt) to perform a full shutdown in case there is some type of hibernation locking the drive.

BD, thank you for doing as requested in our private message exchange and opening a new topic for this issue.

LVM & Flock both relate primarily to Linux / Unix type systems, so like Rob in his reply, I too have no recollection of seeing such errors from the Acronis rescue media.

Your initial post only mentions Windows 7 but is this a single OS system, or are you dual-booting with a different OS such as a Linux distribution?

I agree with Rob's advice to give the ATI 2019 Windows PE version of rescue media a try, but also a good idea to run a CHKDSK /R on the drives being backed up from / to.

Hello, single OS, single boot.  I had error in Win PE also, I'll get more specific about the failure when I'm in back in front of the machine again.   I will perform the CHKDSK /R & shutdown /p and report back.  Thanks!

Ok, got this working.  Possible fix.  Full format on the Acronis bootable USB drive (FAT32) and waiting longer for WinPE to start.  I did not have to perform the CHKDSK /R & shutdown /p.  Thanks for the suggestions.

Thanks for the update, glad you have this working.

Glad to hear it too.

I'm starting to see a pattern where a full format prior to building rescue media has helped as well. I think this may apply if the flash drive has been formatted by other tools in the past (especially by Rufus or other non windows specific tools).
