lost recent outlook emails when cloned drive and tabs in browser

Thread needs solution

I have Acronis True Image 2019. I cloned one of my ssd drives to a new ssd drive. When I booted up on the newly cloned drive and opened Outlook the most recent 10 days of new emails were missing. I opened the outlook.pst file on the original drive and they were now missing there too. I then read an email on the original drive so that the email was no longer showing as unread. I then opened the cloned file and the same email in that file showed that it had been read whereas before it showed as unread. I then read an email on the cloned drive wen to the original file and the email was now showing that it had been read. It's like the two outlook.pst files on two different drives were linked. Then I opened my Firefox browser on the newly cloned drive and it did not open the tabs that had been open on the original drive. What's going on with Acronis.

Dan, welcome to these public User Forums.

If you are able to check the outlook PST files on 2 cloned drives and see changes being reflected then you are booting your computer with both those drives present which is not recommended.

Outlook PST files are subject to other settings outside of ATI imposed by Microsoft when a service such as the VSS snapshot is used, as it can be with Acronis Active Cloning, which can cause such files to be excluded.  Also if Outlook was active, data not written to disk would not be captured.

Difficult to guess at why Firefox is behaving differently but suspect this has to do with how it stores its settings files, and whether you are using Firefox sync to save all your settings etc.
