Media Builder 2019 stuck at Calculating

Thread needs solution

I've seen a lot of posts about the backups getting stuck at "Space required:   Calculating" but I'm having this issue in Media Builder. I think it's been updated since my old VERY confusing original copy...at least I HOPE so.

I actually never got it right but I DID get it to restore the system enough to be able to install True Image 2019 again and THEN do a restore. Having to pick the same things over and over again and the RIGHT ones getting grayed out is VERY frustrating.

Does anyone have any ideas how to get past "Space required:   Calculating" ? If so, I'd REALLY appreciate a hint on getting a new Media Builder USB drive made.

Dan, welcome to these public User Forums.

Sorry but can you clarify exactly what the issue is here?

Are you seeing 'Calculating ...' when trying to create new rescue media, or when using the rescue media to do a Restore or Recovery operation?

What build version of ATI 2019 do you have installed and have you used the same build when creating rescue media?
Note: the final build released for ATI 2019 was 17750 - which should be shown on the Account page in the ATI GUI.

Note 2: when using USB media (memory sticks) then the size should be between 2GB minimum and 32GB maximum size.

Speed of operations using USB media will depend on the USB standard being used, i.e. USB 3 is much faster than USB 2 which in turn is faster than USB 1.  A USB 3 memory stick will only work at the speed of the USB port it is plugged into, so if using a USB 3 stick in a USB 2 port, it will be much slower than if used with a matching USB 3 port.

I see it when trying to create new rescue media. It just sits there and I have tried multiple USB drives of various sizes. I am using Acronis 2019 Media Builder.

Scott, welcome to these public User Forums.

Do you see the same issue if you choose to create either an ISO or WIM file for the rescue media, so eliminating the USB drives from the equation here?

There is a new MVP Assistant log viewer tool that has now been made available by Acronis via the Community Tools page. Please use this to review the Media Builder log to see if this indicates what problem is causing the tool to fail or hang?
