Multiple Backups Using The Same Event?

Thread needs solution

Can Acronis True Image perform multiple backups using the same event?  I have one backup that saves specific folders to a NAS and another backup that saves the same folders plus additional ones to an external HDD.  They are both scheduled to run at system shutdown.  The first backup is current but the second backup is over a week old and indicates that the backup was stopped by the user.  I receive a message that PC shutdown is delayed while processes are completed.  So at least one backup is occurring prior to shutdown.  Any thoughts?  Thanks.

PK, welcome to these public User Forums.

The simple answer to your question is no.  ATI processes all backup tasks sequentially with only one task ever being active at any time, and that includes when the option to make a 'reserve copy' is used for a backup task.

If you have your first backup to NAS task set to shutdown when complete, then this is probably the reason why the second backup to your external drive is never running!

You can queue up multiple tasks to run at the same or very similar time, and ATI will process each task in turn, but I have never tested this with the option to run multiple tasks 'at shutdown'.

Another option here that might better suit your requirement would be to have just the one main backup task, then use a Post Command with that task where that then copies the new backup file to your second destination using such as Robocopy (integrated into Windows).

With ATI 2019 where Acronis Active Protection is active, you would need to include steps in the batch process to turn off AAP while the file(s) are copied to the second location, then turn on AAP again when the copy is done.

Thank you Steve.  I will use another event to initiate the backup task.
