Old Backup

Thread needs solution

Maxime, it should be possible to do so, but you would need to do so by uploading a .tib file to the Cloud, which may take a long time depending on the size of the backup file and your broadband upload speed.

To do this, create a new backup task for Files & Folders to go to the Acronis Cloud, then in the Source panel, select the location of your old backup image .tib file.

Next, open the Exclusions page and remove the default exclusions which would prevent *.tib files from being backed up.

Set your target DataCentre for your nearest location / country, then save your settings and run the task.

Note: you cannot do a Disk & Partitions backup to the Cloud as this will exclude .tib files by default as stated in the ATI 2019 User Guide:

Additionally, when you back up your system partition or disk to Acronis Cloud, Acronis True Image excludes the following data:

  • The Temp folders, usually located in:
    • C:\Windows\Temp\
    • C:\Users\<username>\AppData\Local\Temp
  • The System Volume Information folder (usually located in C:\System Volume Information\)
  • The Recycle Bin
  • Web browser temporary data:
    • Temporary Internet files
    • Cookies
    • History
    • Cache
  • .tib files
  • .tmp files
  • .~ files

The alternative method here would be to restore your old backup image to a spare disk drive, then make a Disk & Partitions backup of that disk drive to the Acronis Cloud.

Thanks for your answer but we would like to upload old backups on the Acronis server. Do you know if is it possible too?

Maxime, sorry but I do not understand what you mean by wanting to "upload old backups on the Acronis server"?

Where are your old backups stored?
Where do you want to upload them to?

I want to upload them on acronis server but not on the Cloud. My old backups are stored in .tib in local

What do you mean by 'upload them on Acronis server' if this is not the Acronis Cloud?

Ok, thank you for clarifying the server here.

If your dedicated local server is on the same network, then you should be able to just either copy the old backup files to it or else use FTP to upload those files to the server.  The method will depend on how you are able to access the local server from the system where your backup files are stored.

You can store copied .tibs anywhere and access them with rescue media, or, from an Acronis GUI, click on "add existing backup" and navigate to the .tib. if stored on a network server, you will need to provide credentials to access it in either instance.

Thank you for your answers but when I copy backups on my server, Acronis does not detect them. Please, have you an other solution?

Maxime, if you have the copies of your backups on your server, then you would need to use the option in the ATI GUI (on the system where you want them to be seen) to 'Add existing backup', then browse to the location on the server where the most recent backup file is stored and select that file to be added.  This will create a new backup task in the ATI GUI for the backup file using the file name.

Thanks, you work with Acronis 12.5 ? because I have not the arrow icon at the bottom of my backup list...

Above is from ATI 2019 - you need to click on the caret 'v' at the bottom to see this option.

I'm so sorry but I have not the 'v' and my help buttom is at the top right of my page

Maxime, exactly what product and version are you using here?

Is this Acronis True Image, and if so, which version of ATI ?

Maxime, sorry but this forum is for Acronis True Image 2019, you need to post in the Acronis Backup 12.5 Forum for help with that product.
