Thread needs solution

Hello,

I succeed to backup a micro SD card (used as boot disk of a Raspberry PI) but I'm unabled to restore it even with a block copy. Someone knows how to proceed ?

Olivier, I'll admit I've never tried to restore a micro SD so am hoping it's not a bug.  I'll try to grab one and test later today.

Mine are usually FAT32 though and believe it is possible (still want to verify).

That said, how is/was yours formatted on the Raspberry Pi (EXT FAT 2/3/4 or something else)?

And when restoring, have you tried with rescue media... default Linux rescue media and WinPE or WinRE made from Windows 10?

I would try from the rescue media instead of directly from Windows and see if the different rescue media types have a difference behavior or not.

Thank you for your answer.

My µSD have two partitions, the first as FAT32 and the second as EXT4.

I tried under windows with Acronis trueimage 2019 : backup was ok but error as restoring : many files / directories not found...

I was pretty satisfied of True Image but this is a limit even using copy partition tool...

Perhaps I should have to boot on a live CD but it was easier for me to rebuild Rasbian and copy files from others Raspberries.

But now, I wonder if it is useless to backup with True Image...
