Reading Comments

Thread needs solution

I have been using Acronis 2018 for some time and I cannot find any way to read the comments which I add when creating a backup. I was told this was a common problem. Does anybody now if this problem has been fixed in Acronis 2019?

Or even if it was ever fixed in 2018

Michael, I can only direct you to take a read through forum topic: Acronis True Image 2018 still not able to see Comments - where this issue has been dealt with previously and mentions activity by the Acronis developers in this area.

12/23/2019 Quick update.  That long thread does not (as of today) provide a solution and does not explain why TI chose not to add the ability to read the comments inside images from within windows and can't even offer a small stand-alone utility to do this?

It's a known issue and Acronis should have dealt with it a long time ago.  Supposedly, it might get fixed in TI 2019 but I doubt that because I thing the issue goes deep into the core design of TI.

I use TI 2018 to make images from the boot media - no TI installed.  Then I finally installed TI in win 8 specifically to read comments and found that I could not.

I used Ghost for 20 years are when you open an image file in windows you get direct access to the comments which relay important info about why the image was made what hardware it was used with etc.
