Recovered Backup to New SSD, Windows 10 Not Bootable

Thread needs solution

I backed up my C: (OS) drive (a 120GB Intel SSD) using Acronis TI 2019 (build 14690), and then recovered it to a different SSD (Samsung 850 Pro 128GB). The files and partitions were restored ok, but the drive is not recognised. It's a UEFI Windows 10 x64 build 1809 (all updates installed). If I replace the Intel SSD it is detected and boots fine. If I connect the Samsung, it can't detect the drive as bootable (not listed as a boot order option).

I've just updated to 17750 manually - for some stupid reason the auto-update feature isn't working (it just kept telling me it had all the latest updates installed).

I am doing this from within Windows. I could try using the Clone utility from bootable media, but what I'm testing here is the ability to store a backup of the PC's boot drive and recover to different media in case of drive failure. This is a feature that has worked since the earliest versions of Acronis, I'm at a loss as to why it wouldn't be working now.

Your PC being booted via UEFI would have Windows Boot Manager as the selected boot option in your BIOS boot order.  Often a new drive will be at the end of the list of HDD in the bios and can be moved up the list to the top position which will then allow you to see it in the boot order but again, Windows Boot Manager is what needs to selected as the boot device on UEFI booted machines.
