Recovery Disk UEFI/GPT Disk Designation Confusion
I hope I'm creating this post in the right area. While messing with One Drive, I deleted all Icons and folders on my desktop, oops. Since I make a backup each evening I assumed that a quick restore would have me back up and running in no time. First order of business, get the computer to boot from the installed CD recovery disk by changing the computers boot order from UEFI Shell to the UEFI CD. No issues there, the recovery disk booted up as advertised. When I went to the restore screen to start setting things up, all drive assignments had been changed. For example, my original drive names and letter designations corresponded to each other as listed below.
Charlie C:\ (boot drive)
Delta D:\
Echo E:\
Foxtrot F:\
and so on...
When I went to select the drive to restore, my drive names no longer corresponded to the original letter designations. See my example below.
Echo C:\ (echo is where my backup files are)
Charlie D:\
Foxtrot E:\
Delta F:\
Assuming that I want to restore my C:\ drive, which one would I pick as now my Echo drive is labeled C:\. If I chose my C:\ drive, would I be restoring to my original boot drive or to the drive Echo which contains my backup files?
For the record, I don't recall the size of the physical drives being listed in the restore options. I could have used that bit of information to identify the proper boot disk. I'm really confused and would really appreciate some help. Thanks in advance.
