Recovery download incredibly slow

Thread needs solution

Hi,

I now tried to download a Cloud Backup with Acronis TI several times on different days and times and the download is incredibly slow.

I have a 400 Mbit connection which on almost every server runs with fullspeed (40-45 MByte/s).

However, the Acronis Cloud Backup only delivers about 16 Mbit (2 MByte/s).

A recovery of a normal Windows 10 installation becomes an ordeal with this slowness.

Is there anything one could do to get a faster download?

Philipp, welcome to these public User Forums.

The only suggestion I can offer is to use the available tools as per KB 59690: Acronis Backup Cloud: Speed Test utility

If this does not help, then please open a Support ticket direct with Acronis.

Probably not. As Ian pointed out in a couple of older threads, the download is a .zip file. The slowness is not about the conversion to .zip first and the concurrent download.  For me, cloud is a third and final recovery option because of speed. Off-site backup and recovery is a must (in case your house burns down or hard drive failure), but it is a last option. Local backups to USB or internal drives are waaaaaay faster and network backups to remote shares or a NAS aren't far behind. Cloud is sooo much slower, but if it becomes the only option, it is far better than nothing at all.
