Reduce True Image 2019 to the max: Backup and restore
Dear TrueImage experts,
running TrueImage 2019 under Windows 10 on a quite old laptop, I would like to reduce TrueImage 2019 to the max. That means: No background services, no not absolutly necessary processes. Just start manually what I need when I want to make a backup (or restore one) and shutting everything down when finishing the program without unwanted rising at the next start of Windows.
There are quite a lot of topics in the forum about starting and stopping services, about using SysInternals for activating and deactivating Autoruns etc, e. g.
https://kb.acronis.com/content/60222
https://kb.acronis.com/content/61624
just to name a few. What I could not find yet is an instruction which services and processes have to be stopped/deactivated (and started/activated) in which order and which combinations for reaching my purpose without a lot of trial and error and the risk of missing something.
I also saw some scripts (I think on the acronis.com domain?) for stopping services (some time ago and of course I cannot find them at the moment). The suggestion was, if I remember correctly, to put those scripts into the Windows autorun folder which I think is not the best solution: Spending time on startup for starting and initializing services and processes which a few seconds later will be stopped anyway by a script, consuming time as well?
To make long things short:
Are there complete (!) step by step instructions provided by Acronis to accomplish the tasks I described in the first paragraph or better are there scripts provided for this or even much better for the users not so familiar with Windows internals a is there a tool with nice GUI to do this (or will there be one in the future?).
Kind regards,
Franz

Hello, Steve,
thank you for the fast reply. 61624 I mentioned in my posting as part of my homework I did before asking my question ;-) but the additional information you gave about stopping all services with the exception of Scheduler 2 was very helpful (= the missing info in the KB article) and rassuring.
Thanks again.
Franz

Franz, glad the information helped. For reference, you can find the .BAT scripts for stopping / starting services via the Useful Links section of the forum under MVP User Tools and Tutorials
