Rescue Media Builder : Disable scans (.tib, disk, integrity, etc.) and logging

Thread needs solution

Hello.

I primarily use Acronis TI bootable media (USB in my case) to backup and restore images. This is because a local install of the full program initiates a plethora of services (including Ransomware and Bonjour) that don't need to run for the simple task of backing up or restoring an image.

Sadly, there seems to be little or no options to remove or disable these unwanted and resource-sucking services.

When using TI, I would like to completely disable any form of scans and post-task logging. I'll gladly accept the risk if there are integrity issues and my backup/restore attempts fail. This choice of accepting risk and the availability of program configuration options should, without question, be given to end-user clients, seeing we are the ones paying for the product.

My Question: Using the Rescue Media Builder, are there any startup parameters (other than published) that can be entered in the "Parameters" field that will disable source .tib scans and any post-task log creation?

Acronis Support: Please tell us how to disable aforementioned scans and log creation when creating bootable rescue media (such as USB). I'm assuming there are several unpublished (hidden) parameters that can be used to disable/enable/configure certain product features.

Are there other TI users who have similar concerns?

AjA, welcome to these public User Forums.

My Question: Using the Rescue Media Builder, are there any startup parameters (other than published) that can be entered in the "Parameters" field that will disable source .tib scans and any post-task log creation?

My Answer: No, sorry there are no such parameters to prevent such scans in either the rescue media or for the Windows ATI application when installing or updating to a new version.

This has been requested by many users but has not been actioned by Acronis to date.

AjA,

When using rescue media, everything is loaded into memory.  The backup job does create a log in memory, but it is not saved anywhere unless you specify to save it manually.  Essentially, the offline rescue media, is offline, other than when you store a backup .tib on a network and access it.  There are no leftover logs or resources being used up when you boot out of the rescue media.

Also, if you don't want all of the Acronis services running on the system, you can disable most of them in computer management >>> services.  The only service you really need to leave running is schedule manager if you have automated backup schedules so they can kick off. It will install bonjour for network device connection (used to help connect to NAS devices and network shares), but the performance is really minimal for the local system.

It's very easy to disable each service manually, but you can also do it with a simple .bat script as a one-off run that can stop the services and set them to disabled so they don't automatically startup.  This could be useful so you could automate the backup tasks and reduce computer resource use.
