Restore from Survival kit - not possible

Thread needs solution

I am trying to simulate my restore from a full image backup.  I have installed the Survival kit on a Seagate 6 TB Backup plus Hub and performed a full backup.  If I boot from the survival kit I do not see the backup partition or the TIB file.  If I click Browse I see a drive letter that corresponds to what I expect to see but it's size is 0 bytes and free space is 0 bytes.   I have the exact same result when using a 4 TB external.

If however I create and boot from the universal restore DVD I can see the external 6 TB drive and the TIB file is available for restore but this defeats the purpose of the Survival kit.

I then replaced my external 6 TB with a 1 TB and performed the install of the survival kit and did a full backup.  This smaller drive boots correctly and DOES see the partition with the backup and can perform a successful restore.  So it appears that the size of the external drive is the problem.

Has anyone else used a large drive (at least 4 TB)  and successfully installed the survival kit and can they see their backup during a restore?
