Restoring a Drive

Thread solved

1.  I have backed up the C, D and E drives to .tib files using AT! 2019. How do I restore the E drive without restoring the C and D drives? Do

2. I backed up my system in ATI 2019 in a tib file (s1).  s2, s3 and s4 are incremental backups.   I want to restore the computer to the condition its was in when I backed up s3.  Can I restore the chain from s3 without restoring s4? Do I  restore S3 (latest) first or S1(earliest)?

Hi Ronald, somehow you became the victim of Acronis posting you post to the wrong thread.

The good news is that you can do what you want to do, you can restore just one partition and you can select the backup date to be restored. I do not have ATI 2019 installed on any of my PCs at the moment so I cannot show you screenshots of the process.

Assuming that partitions C, D, and E are on the same HDD/SSD, then I would be inclined to restore using the recovery media because if you do so from within ATI because the partition is on the same disk as the system drive, it may reboot into custom Linux environment to do the backup, which can have unintended consequences.

Before doing the restore abundant caution suggest that you should do a new backup just in case something goes wrong (assuming that you have not do a backup recently).

The screenshot below is using ACPHO (2022 beta) rather than ATI 2019, but it is similar (ATI 2019 does not have a replicate tab). You select Partitions rather than Disks or Files,  at the top an then select the partition to be restored (in the example the Recovery partition); you select the version to be recovered using the date drop down.

Hope this helps
