Retrieving old Chrome extension info.

Thread needs solution

My hard drive crashed a while ago so I got it replaced at Best Buy. At that time the Geek Squad backed up my old drive to Acronis True Image 2019

I needed to check something on Metamask (a Chrome extension) but when I clicked it the account was lost. It seems all the info. for that extension was on the old computer. I see in the Acronis backup that the whole C drive was there but I'm curious if I can somehow get the information I need off there. Metamask creates a 12 word seed phase that I don't have but may be on the old hard drive when it was created. It also may have any other info. I need to retrieve that account.

Do you have any suggestions on how I can get the info. I need?

Thanks.

Hartley, welcome to these public User Forums.

If the Best Buy Geek Squad used ATI 2019 to backup your old disk drive and then restored that backup to your new disk drive, then all the data should still be present as far as possible.

If the old disk drive was failing in any way that prevented a full backup to be taken, then it may be possible that the Geek Squad did a fresh install of Windows and then just copied back your user data from the ATI backup image.

By default, ATI 2019 will exclude some web browser data from backups, though this normally is just cache data that shouldn't contain your Chrome extension data.

Ideally, you should sign in to your Google account and synchronise your bookmarks, extensions etc in that way to avoid losing this data.
