Slow bootable CD

Thread needs solution

notebook ASUS F550LDV-XX487H ATI 2015 and 2019 bootable CD sometimes runs so slow, for example when I browse Resources during backup settings.. or pressing other buttons.. If I wait then ATI backs to work, but I have to wait a very long time sometimes.. The same operations work immediately with ATI 2013 bootable CD! Why? This is the only my computer with this kind of issue..

All current bootable rescue media scans all available drives for any Acronis .tib / .tibx (2020) files in order to present them as choices to the user, this can result in long delays, especially if network drives are accessible.

But:

1) this only happens with one of my 4-5 computers in the same network

2) when it occurs you can't do anything, everything is like "stuck in a moment", you really have to wait up to 10-20-30 minutes!

3) I think it becomes slow even interacting in other part of ATI (bootable CD), not only pressing the browse button

I understand that this can be frustrating when ATI goes into 'treacle mode' but I am not aware of anything that can be done other than wait it out, or keep the number of drives attached to a minimum.

Personally, I very rarely use CD's any more, or DVD's as I find USB media to be much more reliable and flexible, plus can also be quicker as they are a read/write mechansim rather than being read/only.

For the one computer where you are seeing this issue, try doing CHKDSK /F for each of the drives / partitions in case you have something else going on besides the boot CD being slow?

ATI does perform some file system checks as part of its processing so this could be involved.

I haven't understood how you perform a full backup of your computer: maybe through ATI (Windows) program during Windows running? I don't like to performa an hot backup of my computer, I prefer to do it at boot with Windows closed.

Let me explain:

1) ATI bootable CD 2013: no problem

2) ATI bootable CD 2015 build 6567: when I press on the "Browse" button, ATI remains blocked for about 4-5 minutes! and finally when the new ATI window appears (file system view..) again ATI remains 1-2 more minutes blocked! only at this point I can go on without interruptions

3) ATI bootable CD 2020 build 21400: worse than 2015! slower.. so that you can't use it

Thus different ATI bootable CD version have different behaviour.

About "2" it takes 3-4 minutes + 1-2 minutes even if I disconnected that notebook from my network! (unplugging the Ethernet cable) so I deduce there should be a bug in the software or something strange in that notebook..
