Spinner to SSD using TI Clone

Thread needs solution

A while back I updated my laptop, Lenovo W540, to a Samsun EVO SSD from an OEM spinner.  All went well and Win 10 updated properly until v10.1607.  However at one point all updates failed.  A little research reveals that the partitioning may be an issue. My other, a Lenovo W541, is updated OK to the latest Win10 and the partition is very different from the one that fails updates.

Any way to manually repair the partitioning??  I'm pretty well versed, but this new UEFI etc, has me stumped.

I have a lot of registered software, so uninstalling, calling the owners, getting new codes, etc is a real PITA,

Attached is a png of my partitions and labels, using <AOMEI Partition Assistant Pro Edition v6.3>.

Chris, welcome to these User Forums.

I do not see how partitioning should be the cause for why Windows 10 has stopped updating on this computer if it was doing so without issue after performing the original cloning from a HDD to an SSD drive.

The only 'issue' that I see with the screen image of your partitions is that you have a 23GB chunk of unallocated space on the drive that isn't being used for any purpose.

Before you attempt to do anything with regards to your partitions, I would strongly making a full disk & partitions backup of your working OS drive to an external backup drive - this is your safety net in case anything goes wrong when touching partitions.

Next, I would suggest attempting to get Windows Update working again and leaving the partition issue on the back burner.  I would recommend trying out the Troubleshooting option for Windows Updates via the main Windows Settings panels > Update & Security > Troubleshoot and see if this will resolve the issue for you?

If this doesn't resolve the update issue, then the next suggestion (which I have used myself several times for similar issues) would be to do an in-place Update of Windows 10 using the installer for the latest Spring 2018 Windows 10 version.
