Survival kit Disk not visible to TI 2019

Thread solved

I bought a new larger HDD and decided to try the survival kit option. I set it running and went away. When I returned, the process had finished but the disk then didn't show up in Windows Explorer and was not visible to Acronis TI when I entered the back-up option. The creation process must have finished without giving the back-up option or perhaps it timed out.  I can see the volume in Disk management and there is a 2 Gb boot partition and another partition with the rest of the 2Tb HDD. I've tried assigning a drive letter to the large partition which appeared to work but although it appears in Explorer, it is not available. The only option for the 2 Gb partition is Delete Volume. I'm stuck and want to just return this HDD to a standard NTFS disk as I'm no longer convinced that the Survival option is right for me but don't know how to do this.. Scared of doing something which will make the disk useless. Can anybody help?

When you are running Windows as usual the Survival Kit partition is not visible - it has not drive letter. You cannot have two active windows installations at the same time - the Survival Kit is a specialised windows environment, using either Window PE or Windows RE. You can safely remove the partition (on the one I am looking at at the moment - created when doing beta testing about a year ago it is called ACRONIS HM). You can delete it and resize the other partition using any partition manager, or Windows Computer Management. I find it easiest to use the free MiniTool Partition Wizard.
