I cant access my windows 7 OS ,it just wont boot into windows, I get the log then it crashed, all my files are fine. I've tried restore, chkdsk, sfc, rewriting the MBR no luck, anybody got any ideas.

Andy, welcome to these public User Forums.

Do you have Acronis True Image and if so, do you have a recent full disk backup of your Windows 7 OS drive you could try to recover from if needed?

Initially, I would suggest trying to boot into Windows using Safe Mode to see if that would work?  If it does succeed, then you most likely have a bad driver or profile or similar.

Hi Steve

I do have Acronis true image on my main hard drive, Unfortunatley I'm trying to access a different drive with windows 7 on but it just wont boot.to the operating system. I was wondering if Acronis disk director could fix the volume

Andy, without an Acronis backup image of the problem Win 7 drive then would doubt that Disk Director would help here either.

Have you tried a Safe Mode boot of Win 7 or did this also fail?

Hi Steve

Thanks for you reply. because the system volume was corrupted i could not even access the safe mode boot menu, even a windows 7 repair disc failed to solve it,  I've been at this most of yesterday and today and I've managed to solve the problem via $20 with  a .ISO  program from Neosmart  technoligies  called  Easy recovery essentials .after looking at the reviews i decided to give  it a go. and hey presto it fixed

i had an overlapped partition on the MBR and it proceeded to fix all the issues.and lo and behold i booted into windows 7.. so now I'm  going to put my Acronis true image on this drive and save a back up.

thanks for your help, really appreciated it ..

have painstakingly solved the problem,

Andy, always good to hear of success in resolving issues brought here regardless of how!  I regularly use other Neosmart utilities (EasyBCD and iReboot) but haven't needed to try their EasyRE tools to date, so good to know that 'it does what it says on the tin!'

Hi Steve

Yes its been a life saver as the drive has my Cad software on and i was a bit worried i'd loose it.. I will be a bit more careful in the future. Had a lucky escape there. Phew lol
