True Image and NVME drive

Thread needs solution

I have an all in one computer with  NVME as the primary drive.  I wanted to know what is the best way to replicate that drive with all apps, settings, drivers etc.  Currently the system has a 512 GB drive and want to replace it with a 1TB NVME Samsung 970 Pro. Not sure if cloning software will work with an external NVME to USB adapter.  Would Acronis True image work for my purpose and what steps would be recommended?

Sunil, welcome to these public User Forums.

Acronis True Image can clone NVMe drives using a variety of methods.

The recommended method would always be to create a full disk backup of the source drive before attempting any other actions - this is your safety net in case of issues later.

Next, you can use that Backup image to Recover this to your new 1TB drive after it is installed in your computer and replacing your current smaller drive.

Alternatively, you can using Cloning but when doing so, you should do as above, i.e. replace the 500GB drive with the 1TB drive, then connect the smaller drive via an external USB to NVMe adapter.  When cloning, you clone from the external drive to the internal one.

Both of the above methods will require the use of the Acronis bootable Rescue media to boot the computer and perform the operation (recovery or clone), with the media booted in UEFI mode as required for NVMe drives.
