True Image won't clone Autodesk 3DS Max license

Thread needs solution

Forum search (screwy) did not get any hits on this issue.

BTW, this problem I had it with several older versions too.

I want to clone a disk, either to switch to an SSD or switching to a newer drive  or make a backup in case in case the original drive dies.

Everything seems to work fine, but I have never been able to get the Autodesk 3DS Max licenses to work. I had to re-validate the licenses after the cloning of the disk.

In their grandiose wisdom, Autodesk will not re-validate old version licenses except the last 5 years. If you are sitting on an older and very expensive version, you are practically SOL.

Any ideas how to solve this problem?

Thanks

Cesar, welcome to these public User Forums.

I do not believe this this type of licensing issue is limited to using ATI for cloning a disk, and doesn't just apply to your Autodesk application but affects other applications that base their activation and licensing on a specific hardware signature information which is changed when any disk clone is performed and a drive replaced.

You need to open a dialogue with Autodesk support for help in resolving issues with their licensing process.
