TrueImage Home 19 - Bootable Media Win PE USB SATA hard disks

Thread needs solution

Hi, I am considering purchasing TrueImage Home 19 for a Lenovo laptop W541 (64-bit).

My questions relate both to TrueImage Home 19 and is also applicable to version 16. With TrueImage Home 16, you can create a Bootable Media Win PE disk or USB stick. The Bootable Media software offeres a Windows 8.x PE environment even though running Windows 10 (upgraded from Windows 7 Home). I presume that this should NOT cause any problems whatsoever.

I have encountered articles on the web, which describe that the later versions of TrueImage (which I would like to purchase) do NOT easily detect the external SATA HDD USB 3 docking station connected to Lenovo laptops, even when using a Bootable Media Win PE. They mention about obtaining the drivers for the Bootable Media Win PE. Where can you obtain these types of USB HDD drivers and how can they be incorporated within the Bootable Media Win PE environment?

I would appreciate if someone can please kindly answer or point me in the right direction, for these questions before I purchase TrueImage Home 19.

Many thanks in advance, for all your help.

With kind regards,

With TI 2019 you can create WinPE, WinRE, or a Linux based Bootable Media.  The default for the app is now Windows environments (WinPE or WinRE).

The Media Builder tool installed with the 2019 application is capable of building both a Simple boot media and Advanced versions.

When using the Media Builder if you select the Simple version of WinPE media the tool will actually use WinRE (Windows Recovery Environment) on your computer to build the boot media.  Doing this will bring with it most needed drivers for your system as well.  So you should not have issue with using your USB Hub.

If you encounter problems post back and someone here can help with adding drivers for your Hub into the WinRE media.
