trueimagemonitor.exe trying to phone home. Why?
Trueimagemonitor.exe is attempting to contact an unknown external system. Why is it doing this? Can I block this connection without negatively affecting the ability to backup and restore files to and from an external hard drive?

My firewall is blocking the attempted connections to another network and reporting that fact. This is occurring at seemingly random intervals while there is no backup running. I am currently not participating in the Acronis Customer Experience Program. The Windows services information suggests the trueImagemonitor.exe has something to due with the Acronis active protection user interface. why it would need an outside connection is beyond me.

What actual remote IP address is the firewall blocking here?
TrueImageMonitor just deals with system tray notifications which may include those from Acronis Active Protection, but there is a separate AAP Service for that feature of the application.
If you use the KB document I referenced in my earlier reply, you could try stopping / disabling all the Acronis Services using the Windows Services.msc control panel then see if the firewall still reports the same connection being blocked or not?

The firewall is blocking 69.20.59.83:443
I will try killing those services and get back to you.

ATI maintains a connection to 69.20.59.83:443 even if you opt out of Acronis Customer Experience Program. It occasionally also starts a connection to port 80 (on the same IP address? I forgot to check). I think these additional connections are shortly after startup. I have all ATI services disabled except for AAP and Scheduler2. I can conceive of AAP needing to get updated ransomware signature info from some central Acronis server so I grit my teeth and allow the connections.
Update: During the time I posted the above comment, ATI had killed the 69.20.59.83:443 connection. I guess ATI does not "maintain" the connection. It comes and goes.

69.20.59.83 is Rackspace Hosting. I would think this to be the hosting service that supports the Cloud services of True Image.
