Unable to access image file
I thought I had posted this question before, but it's not showing up. So, trying again.
Recently bought a new Win10 computer form Dell. I like to get an "as received" backup of any computers as ultimate disaster recovery. To that end I created a boot disk for Acronis True Image Home 2019. This disk worked on my laptop computer (also Win10). I was able to back up the OS drive to an external SSD and do a test recovery. However, with the new computer, it fails.
I connected an external hard drive to the new computer, a 2 TB Western Digital "My Book" formatted in NTFS. I booted to the Acronis boot disk and set up a backup: new backup, complete drive, maximum compression, no encryption, validate after backing up.
The backup appears to run correctly, but when it gets to validation I get the error:
Failed to open backup D:\AcronisBackups\9205_all_full_b1_s1_v1.tib. Make sure the backup location is accessible and contains all versions of the backup.
When I try to validate separately from the backup operation, I get the same error.
An additional note: I saved the log file but when I connect the drive to another computer any attempt to copy, move, or open the log file gives me an "access is denied" error. Other files that are saved on the computer, including files created by an earlier version of Acronis TiH (I have a very old version 11).
