"Unable to back up a locked volume encrypted with BitLocker" even though volume is unlocked

Thread needs solution

I'm attempting to backup a Micro SD card that I permanently keep inserted in my laptop.

It is protected with BitLocker, but I have it set to auto-unlock on this PC.

With Acronis True Image 2019, Build 17750, I'm unable to back up this Micro SD card.

I receive an error message that states "Unable to back up a locked volume encrypted with BitLocker. Unlock the volume or turn off BitLocker, and then try again."

I've attached a screenshot of the error along with a screenshot displaying my volumes showing that they are unlocked. Thanks!

EDIT: It looks like this topic was moved to the correct forum. Thank you!

I'm not sure how this ended up in the Non Product Related Forums. I chose the CREATE NEW TOPIC link while browsing the Acronis True Image 2019 Forum.

New topics are placed in the Off Topic forum when they include any file attachments or images embedded in the post for some strange reason.  Acronis are aware of this but haven't fixed it yet!

I would recommend raising this BitLocker issue as a Support Case direct with Acronis as there have been other reports of issues with Acronis not correctly recognising unlocked drives, though these have mainly been when using the Acronis bootable rescue media.

Got it, thanks. I've opened a ticket with Acronis support. If they come up with a solution I will report back.

Hello Orin,

have you already checked the solution from https://kb.acronis.com/node/63024 ? Scenario described under Symptom 3 might be applicable to your case.
