Unable to restore deleted files from Application or Web

Some pictures were accidentally deleted from a folder that is backed up with non-stop backup to Arconis Cloud.

The files can be seen in the desktop app when choosing a previous "backup version".  I can select them for restore, it says Data to recover "92 files and 1 folders (490Mb)", but after progressing and hitting "recover now" the application does nothing.  Just a blank page.

When going via the cloud dashboard, again I can see the files when selecting "show deleted".  But after highlighting the files and hitting download a 200 byte empty ZIP file is downloaded.  If I try to restore just one of the pictures by selecting its checkbox and hitting download I get an error saying the server is unavailable.  But if on this dashboard on each file individually I click the cog then View versions and select the latest version I can successfully download the picture.  I do not want to have to do this individually for 92 files.

Are these known issues?  Is there a way I can just get the application to restore them properly?

This sounds like a bug with the interface. Seeing as how you can recover files individually, it suggest that the data in in tact in the Cloud (which is good).  In my experience, when I log into the Cloud through a Chrome browser, I’m able to select entire folders for restore and then it creates a .zip which can be extracted once the download is complete.

So, either the .zip file is not done downloading completely and resulting in a blank .zip file as a result, or there is a problem/bug preventing it from downloading correctly.  You may want to check with a different web browser and a smaller subset of data as a test - just to be sure.  If the results are still like you’re seeing, you’re going to want to open up a support case directly with Acronis tech support and have them take a look with you.  Usually, you can start a chat support within a few seconds and start working with them immedidiately.

Thanks for the response.  I tried the chat support route, all he wanted to to was stop the services and rename the Online Backup folder, which wasn't even on the same source the files were backed up from.  I can't see how doing that would change anything in a Web Restore.  He then said try again tomorrow.

Today, I've checked again and now all my backups have vanished from the cloud, even though all the machines say the last backup status was successful.

Fortunately though i did manually go and get each of those files last night before "the cloud" decided to vanish completely so not all is lost.

I've completely lost faith in this product, I have yet to be able to do a simple restore without any issues.  Anyone know of a suitable alternative?

 

I can't recommend any.  I'm not willing to take a full dive into the cloud either (in any backup program).  I have multiple backups onsite that provide some redundancy (local internal drive, secondary usb drive, third NAS drive and 4th to the Cloud - just in case) and although Acronis is my bread and butter, I use a handful of different ones to diversify backup and restore options too.  Maybe I'm just paranoid, but I like the peace of mind.  Generally speaking though, Acronis is my first option and has been really solid for local backups.  I have had mixed results in the cloud too. 

One thing I am doing though is utilizing one-drive for strictly data.  It has been pretty useful, but not ideal for all data and of course, it doesn't provide full system backups. Kind of have to go with a mix of tools to get the best of all worlds.
