UPDATE: Acronis 2019 freezes with 1 minute left in cloning (PROBLEM FIXED)
UPDATE: This was a hardware problem (faulty USB port), not a problem with TI 2019 (which is a great program). It's working fine now after I moved the external hard drive I was trying to clone to to a different USB port.
**********************************************************************************************************************************
I tried Acronis 2021 and did not like it. It was much slower for both backups and cloning. So I uninstalled it and reinstalled Acronis 2019.
Unfortunately, I tried cloning my C: drive. Twice now it has gotten to 1 minute left and just froze there. Nothing happens. Just the window showing "1 minute remaining" and it has been sitting there for over 2 hours now that way. I can [Cancel], but I assume it won't be useable if I do.
How can I get the Clone function to actually complete? I never had this problem with Acronis 2019 before.

I also have a similar problem with Acronis True Image 2019 for Mac where the clone operation won't complete and eventually crashed my Mac. My Mac Pro is running OSX 10.12.6 with the latest update of Acronis 2019 running from the Mac's boot drive. The clone source is a 2TB drive connected via an external eSATA dock, and the source drive is a new and newly formatted 3TB drive installed internally in my Mac Pro. I have used this same hardware setup to clone drives successfully using a 3rd party software, so I thought I would try Acronis to do the same since I have had good luck with the Windows version of Acronis.
The Mac drive clone process started normally with an estimated time to complete of 6 hours. Checking at hour #6, it appeared to be nearly complete, but not yet done. I returned at hour #13, and it was "finishing up". I checked again 1/2 hour after this, and I heard the drives running rapidly, but my Mac's screen was blank with no response to either my keyboard or my mouse! 1/2 hour after this, the Mac and the drives were quiet as if the clone process was complete, but the Mac's screen was still blank except for the mouse curser being visible and moving, however, there is nothing to click on to know if the process is complete or to continue. My Mac is running but Acronis seems to have crashed the Finder, and the keyboard is not responsive.
My Mac is set to never go into any sleep or energy saving mode, and no other software was running, so I don't understand why it has apparently crashed during the end of the Acronis cloning process. I have never had this happen before with any other Mac drive software, including the previously mentioned 3rd party cloning software.
So, some questions;
- How do I get my Mac out of this blank screen mode?
- How do I know if the cloning process completed?
- How do I know if the cloned drive is an accurate copy of the source drive and that no errors were introduced by this Acronis crash?
- Is Acronis True Image 2019 a robust and reliable software for cloning Mac drives or should I use some different software for Macs and only use Acronis for Windows computers?
Your advice would be greatly appreciated as I'm stuck at the moment ... thanks!

Update Feb 4, 2021
I was forced to perform a hard reboot to get my Mac to respond after True Image stopped responding. The resulting cloned drive appeared to have all the files intact, however, it was not bootable as an attempt to boot from this cloned drive froze before it could boot. There were no error or warning messages of any kind generated by True Image to indicate the problem or its fix.
At this point, I went with the latest build of the Carbon Copy Cloner software to attempt retry the same clone operation. Interestingly, it immediately reported that the resulting cloned drive would likely not be bootable unless I updated the OS on the drive under which the Mac was running the cloning software; I was attempting to clone a Mojave OS drive while running the cloning software on OS Sierra.
Once I moved the CCC cloning software to also run under Mojave, the resulting cloned drive was efficiently finished in a few hours and was bootable and without any problems. I don't know if this same OS change would have also resolved the software freeze issue and unbootable drive resulting when I attempted clone the drive using True Image, but at least the CCC was smart enough to catch this issue and report the fix rather than blindly proceeding to produce an unusable result. Good Luck!
