Upgrade non subscription TI 2019 to TI 2020 later for free if I buy now?

Thread needs solution

Thinking of coming back to TI now after a few years break and I know in the past that if you bought the current version of TI (non subscription) within about a month before the next version releases (AFAIK) you will get a free upgrade to the next version.

I know new releases of TI usually come around 20th of August each year (but exact dates are never given out), so am wondering if I buy TI 2019 now (and presuming the upgrade policy still applies) would I get TI 2020 on release?

Or should I just wait until TI 2020 releases (in about a week, I'm guessing)?

Please see KB 61590: Acronis True Image 2019: Licensing and Upgrade FAQ - for how the free upgrade was handled last year, which I would expect to be very similar for when ATI 2020 comes out.

PT,

It's usually 30 days on the dot that free upgrades are honored.

It would be a bit of a gamble to buy 2019 now and hope the final release for 2020 comes out within 30 days.  Most likely, it will, but we just don't know and Acronis hasn't announced a release date (that I'm aware of) yet.

Personally, I'd just hold out a little longer with the purchase so you don't get stuck with 2019.  2020 is close, but maybe not close enough to be within 30 days of a purchase made today since we just don't know.

The release date for ATI 2020 is 20 August, so should be OK to buy 2019 and mover to 2020 when released.
