V2019 does not display the back up drive in "RECOVER."
Hi guys 'n' gals,
After I updated to v2021....found that it was not suitable, I returned to v2019.
I performed all the necessary functions, eg; uninstall, clean, restart PC etc., & all seemed fine.
I did a manual back up which is now FULL > # 1. (one.)
Will check later, as it's due for it's first of two INCREMENTALS tonight. (In about 3 hours.)
Anyway, the main Q? is...Why when I go into the "RECOVER" tab/section, why does it not "see" my external "G" drive?
This is where all my back ups are saved & has been for years.
I've done the "REPAIR" using the installer, but it did not repair/fix the error.
"G" still does not show up.
Any ideas will be most welcome.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for the reply & Q's.
All my back ups are on an external, powered, "G" drive (500 Gig HDD) & always have been.
(Unplugged after the back up.......of course.)
Yes. You are correct. I meant the RECOVER option & pane. (Edited the original post.)
I went through the whole process once more...
D/L'd a fresh copy of 2019, Un-installed current, restarted PC, checked/cleaned Registry, (nothing found)
& re-installed the fresh copy.
Looked exactly the same with the same results as noted below...
That is where my confusion starts because I expect to see my "G" drive in that RECOVER pane & all I see are...
Computer > "C" & my 2 DVD/CD burner drives...viz > "D" > "E".
Anywho...After reading the KB article on "How to add back ups", I went ahead & deleted the "original FULL # 2" back up & started from scratch.
(I had two, one # 1 & one # 2, (Diff dates), both about the same size. (117 odd Gig.)
I re-checked the options & started the back up. About 20 Mins later...
I now have just one FULL #1 & one INCREMENTAL #1 > 117.45 & 3.2 Gig respectively.
So Sir, it appears that shesa back to normal & fully functional once more. ;)
ps. Even now, I do not see my "G" drive in that RECOVER pane. What am I missing here?
Will stay with v2019, as it does not have any of the "garbage" that a back up & recovery program should come with.
(Version 2021.)
I received my refund as well, so that's taken care of. Ta muchly Cleverbridge.
Thanks again Steve.
Sorry the be a pain but these things happen. Ain't computers fun? :)
Stay safe.

Rajah, I wonder if you are expecting to see something that has never been shown on the Recovery panel?
An example from my own backups:
This is a disk backup of my D: drive being stored on my external USB S: drive as shown on the Backup panel.
When I switch to the Recovery panel for this backup, there is no mention of the S: backup storage drive, instead it shows the content of the backup archive / image.
If I were to select the backup by ticking the selection box in the image, then it would offer me a choice of available drives to recover the backup image to, but this would not allow me to select the drive S: where the image is stored which is 'greyed out'.
Hence, I think you are looking for something that has never been offered in the recovery panel!

Hi Steve,
Yes. You are correct.
I'm confused by the terminology & process.
You said...
"If I were to select the backup by ticking the selection box in the image, then it would offer me a choice of available drives to recover the backup image to, but this would not allow me to select the drive S: where the image is stored which is 'greyed out'."
That, is what is confusing....It's RECOVER TO, not RECOVER FROM.
I blame myself for not understanding what the creators/authors meant. ;)
So Steve, all's fine once more.
Thanks for the simple explanation.
Stay safe.
