Which restore option should I use to make my bootable media?

Thread needs solution

I'm confused by the options for making a bootable media device. I'm on Win 10 x64 and my backups live on my Drobo which uses a username/pw to log in to. The drobo is on the same network as the machine. Currently making backups works just fine.

I can do a "rescue media builder" or "acronis universal restore". Both sound like they do the same thing but have different options. Firstly, what's the difference between these 2? Secondly, which one should I use:

1. Rescue Media Builder - Simple

2. Rescue Media Builder - Advanced

3. Acronis Universal Restore - Linux-based media, Windows-like representation

4. Acronis Universal Restore - Linux-based media, Linux-like representation

5. Acronis Universal Restore - Windows PE

Both the Rescue Media Builder and Universal Restore tools can be used to create Rescue media but the latter is really intended for the scenario where you would be recovering to a different computer or to different hardware, i.e. after a motherboard change.

Please see KB 60091: Acronis True Image 2018: how Simple bootable media creation mode works - and KB 61632: Acronis True Image 2019: how to create bootable media - and KB 59335: Acronis True Image: Community Tools - which contain information to answer your questions.

In particular, see the Community Tools section at the bottom of the document which shows how you can put multiple different Acronis programs on a single USB stick.
