Acronis 2020 loses settings
I backup computers for family and friends. I own 5 licenses.
I am getting tired of Acronis 2020 loosing my settings. I have them set up to notify me upon completion and when I don't get notifications I know something is up. I ALWAYS want single version and when it screws up, I get incremental backups, it loses the notification information, when to run and all advanced settings.
When this happens I have to reset all settings and put them back the way I want them and run another backup. This is happening with greater frequency and I am tired of it. This problem has been around for at least the last 3 versions. None of the knowledge base suggestions I have tried have worked and I am ready to use another backup system.
Are there any suggestions as to what other backup program I might try?? I can tell from looking around that I am not the only one experiencing this problem. I have had this problem for a long time now and it appears that Acronis is not interested in fixing it. I have used Acronis since 2009. The older versions worked much better than the newer ones do. They keep trying to get me to upgrade to the new version and they don't or can't fix the old versions. The new versions are more complex than the older versions so, to my way of thinking, there are more opportunities for other things to go wrong too. The newer they get the more problems they seem to have that don't get fixed.
I almost forgot another issue that happens frequently that hasn't been fixed either. Fairly frequently on one of my machines (not one in particular), the backup will not start at the prescribed time. I have to go in and restart the 'Acronis Scheduler2 Service' before the backup will run. If I don't do this the backup will never run. If I try to run it manually I get an error until I restart the service. This has also been a problem for at least the last 3 updates. Their answer is to restart the service instead of fixing the problem. I have better things to do with my time than to figure out just why their software is failing this time.
Again, I am looking for a better alternative. Does anyone have any suggestions ??

I thank you for your speedy reply. I sent an email to Arpita Ghosh as you suggested.
We shall see what happens. I will give her the benefit of the doubt and a reasonable amount of time to see if she can get any results. The problems have not been addressed across several versions so I am a bit skeptical but time will tell. In the mean time I will still look around for an alternative. I may even go back to the 2009 or 2010 versions. They worked much better than the 2017 through 2020 versions do. The more bells and whistles they add, the worse the program gets. Right now, 2022 is totally out of the question. Hard telling how many new problems that one has.

She did at least reply to me but it wasn't helpful - here is my reply to her.
I have been to your link and 2 things always happen (I have been there before). I am told that 2020 is not supported and I get caught up in a loop that goes nowhere. I have tried everything I can find in the knowledge base and nothing works. I find no place where I can email or chat with anyone.
This is one of the main reasons I am looking for another solution. I thought I would give Acronis one last shot and it appears I have waisted my time.
I will go to another company or go back to the 2009 or 2010 version which actually worked.

One method of getting the attention of Acronis Support when your product is out of support is to choose the second option on the Acronis Support web page, i.e. not selecting 'Technical assistance' which is offered first!
The second option offers: Trial / Activation / Pre-sales / Privacy / Licensing question as categories of possible support.
This whole issue is not a user technical issue - the changes are being made by Acronis at their servers and pumped out to force user backup tasks to use default values that the user did not want to use, so this is a Privacy issue at heart. Acronis are invading the user privacy to make unwanted configuration changes that ultimately threaten the security of the backup data!
