Acronis File Protection

Thread needs solution

I have a Win 7 PC with ATI installed.  The hardware is fully capable of handling Windows 10, I7-4790, 16 gig ram, plenty of SSD space.

When I run the Windows Media creation tool to upgrade to Windows 10 it keeps failing with "The installation failed in the SAFE-OS Phase with an error during REPLICATE_OC operation.0x8007001F-0x20006.

I have disabled my anitvirus and firewall.

Is it possible that Acronis File Protection is blocking the upgrade attempt?

I very much doubt that the Acronis Active Protection feature is involved in this upgrade failure, especially given it is happening in the SAFE-OS Phase when, to my understanding, it is essentially running in a dedicated safe mode with only OS applications active.

Doing a Google search just on 0x8007001F-0x20006 brings up lots of hits for other users seeing the same error.

If you want to be sure that ATI 2019 is not involved in this issue, then uninstall it and reboot Windows 7 before tring the upgrade again.  I would recommend creating the Acronis Rescue Media using the 'Simple' method before uninstalling so that you have this available in case you need to recover from a backup image.
