Acronis Media builder Not responding

Thread solved

I have no idea which forum this goes into but I have just purchased Acronis Cyber Protect. I Upgraded from True Image 2020. I did a complete uninstall of the old True Image and new install of the Cyber Protect. I have downloaded the Windows ADK and WinPE stuff, ran the media builder as administrator but it always hangs with not responding. I am trying to create a ISO file to burn.

Thanks In Advance

The complete uninstall of ATI 2020 in the circumstances was abundant caution.

There was recent post about a similar problem creating ISO, but that was (I think) using the Simple rather than Advanced option, which I assume that you are using  as you mention Windows ADK. I just tested creation of ISO using Windows PE without any issues. Did you include loading of custom drivers?

I assume that the version of Windows ADK and PE match the version of Windows on the PC; problems can arise if they are for a different version of Widows. See here for latest builds for various Windows versions.

Do you have the same problem if you try creating ISO for Simple recovery media.

You should also have a look at the log files for the recovery media builder using MVP Assistant - New 2.0 with Rescue Media Builder (New Version 2.2.1). You can also use the MVP Assistant to create recovery media, including an ISO.

No the problem was that the uninstall does not remove everything and that made the new program try to use old stuff and the program crashed. Tech support ran something called AcronisCleanup that actually removed everything so the reinstall worked. Everything is working now. I believe the bug is that the normal uninstall does NOT remove everything and so you have to use the cleanup tool on a reinstall over an old version. I have no idea what they are doing as a retired Windows programmer, but the uninstall process does NOT remove everything.
