Acronis True Image 2020 activation through proxy server

Thread solved

How can I sign in/activate True Image 2020 through a proxy server? I've just purchased a 3 computer subscription licence and can't get past the sign in/product key screen due to needing the proxy settings.

I see no option to specify proxy settings manually, and from what I understand there is no way to do offline activation for subscription licences...

Steven, sorry but you would need to speak to Acronis support about this question with subscription licensing and proxy servers.  See How to get support?

Thanks - I have sent a ticket in. I will update this topic with the answer I get to help with future searches!

Steven, have you read KB 62972: Acronis True Image 2020: How to activate license - this confirms that subscription licenses cannot be activated offline.

Are you actually using a Proxy server as there are known issues with activation and both proxy servers or if using a VPN?  You should normally be able to just sign in with your Acronis account email address & password to activate any license but guess that this is where you are seeing the proxy issue?

Yes I am using Symantec Threatpulse proxy.

I cannot activate or Sign in, it stalls for 30 seconds then I just get:

"An error occurred while signing in. Please try again later."

I enter my serial and get "To complete the activation, you will need to sign in to your Acronis account" which takes me to the error above.

Support team confirmed ATI2020 does NOT support proxy servers (which is a bit crazy in 2020 if you ask me!)

I'm just waiting to hear back about which hostnames it needs to connect to for activation.

Support just pointed me at some KB for cloud nonsense, but allowing these through permits activation:

activation.acronis.com
web-api-tih.acronis.com
web-api-tie.acronis.com
web-api-vmp.acronis.com
rpc.acronis.com

Steven, thanks for sharing your findings here.  I would guess that the ability to allow these hosts through the proxy server will depend on the degree of control the use has to do so?

I understand that you're not seeing any option to specify proxy settings manually, and that there doesn't seem to be a way to do offline activation for subscription licenses. This can be a frustrating issue to deal with.
One solution you can try is to use private residential proxies. These proxies can help you bypass the proxy server and allow you to sign in/activate your subscription license.
