Acronis True Image 2021 Perpetual License
Breach of Contractual Agreement
I purchased Acronis True Image 2021 approximately a year ago. I chose Acronis based on it's reviews and because they offered a perpetual license. I upgraded my MacOS recently and started getting the message that MacOS 12 is not fully supported in Acronis. After numerous emails to Acronis technical support here was their final answer:
Thank you for your email.
We will provide technical support for the Acronis True Image 2021 till December 2021. Your maintenance will get expired on 12-31-2021.
I would appreciate it if you could confirm if the shared information resolved the issue.
Should you have any questions please let me know, I will be glad to help you.
Look forward to your response.
Have a good day!
I DO NOT RECOMMEND ACRONIS TO ANYONE LOOKING FOR A BACKUP SOLUTION!

Mark, I'm with you.
I use Acronis True Image since v2012 and actually upgraded on v2013, v2015, v2016, v2017, v2018 and v2019 (usually on Acronis yearly promotions).
Use it only for backup of 3 PCs on local NAS and portable drives. Don't have fast enough internet connection for Cloud backups and also in case of need I don't believe in downloading 200-500GB of backup in an emergency.
Didn't upgrade on 2020/2021... didn't find any reason to since Acronis is mostly moving to cloud related "bells and whistles".
I will not buy (rent!) subscription software so I will keep using v2019 until I find something better and maybe cheaper since options are plenty.
I would buy into the "subscription" if after the subscription period I could keep using the software without the cloud services but I don't believe that is possible. It's really a shame since I do like this software and it has served me well in several occasions...
Maybe Acronis can make it clear about the usage of the software past the subscription year since I can't find it on the licensing info.
Best regards and good luck.

See KB 63207: Acronis True Image 2020 licensing - where it details the way subscription works if you let it expire / don't renew!
Standard license is unlimited in time. Annual subscription means your license is limited for 1 year. You can renew your subscription and continue using the product.
After your Acronis True Image subscription expires, all product functionality will be blocked until further subscription renewal, however, the backed up data is still accessible:
- For 5 days after subscription expires you can continue making backups, including backups to Acronis Cloud storage.
- During 30 days after subscription expires you can restore data from Cloud Storage. Thirty days after subscription expiration the data in Acronis Cloud storage is destroyed.
- Local backups remain available for restore.
