Is Acronis True Image (or Acronis True Image Cloud) worth it?

Thread needs solution

I have Google Drive that i pay for to have 1+tb of storage, as well as Paying for unlimited Amazon Cloud Storage, and it seems I during a software bender purchased Dell's Alienware Cloud Backup plan (which I really dont like it's software so meh) and I am quite curious on something. I have been looking for a solution for keeping my important data backed up as well as keeping a backup of my system to a point where I could literally have the software just restore the image to the state it was then.

routerlogin I doubt any of the software is capable of that, that I have currently, however, I would love to know if it's worth it to do the following:

Should I purchase Acronis True Image Cloud which comes with unlimited Cloud Storage and will back up, up to 3 systems... or should I purchase just the Acronis True Image software and utilize the many Unlimited Storage Plans I stupidly pay for to back my system up?

In the end, I guess the final question is, should I use none of the above and do you have an alternate piece of software that you would recommend that is even better?

Zhakir, welcome to these public User Forums.

First, Acronis True Image (ATI) only allows backups to the Acronis Cloud servers, not to other cloud providers such as Google, Amazon etc.

Second, ATI 2021 is now a subscription product and you would need to purchase an Advanced or Premium subscription if you want to have access to Acronis Cloud storage, with different prices according to the amount of storage you subscribe to use.  There is no unlimited Acronis Cloud storage offering for True Image to my knowledge.

Next, backup and recovery times for any cloud storage application will depend on multiple other factors including your broadband upload / download rates from your ISP, the size of data involved, type of data (whether this allows high compression or not), along with the actual individual computer systems being used.

Making local backups and recovering from the same will always be the fastest option for both processes.  Using this in conjunction with storing important data in other cloud storage locations will offer a good mix of services, more flexibility and avoid any single point of failure.

Perpetual licences are still available in many countries (from third party seller, not Acronis itself); the list of countries where only subscription licences are available is listed in 68375: Licensing change FAQ: Acronis products switch to subscription-only licenses.
